POLICIES & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL BE USED?
Only approved equipment that has been properly conditioned will be used. Approved equipment: harness, standard leash, head halter, muzzle, long line, treats, toys. The following equipment will not be used under any circumstances: prong collar, shock collar (e-collar), choke chains (or fabric equivalent), citronella collars/bark collars, flexi-leads, shaker cans, spray bottles, or anything else that elicits a fearful response.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
We ask you give 24 hour notice prior to cancelling your service. Otherwise the full charge will be applied.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WALK LOOK LIKE FOR MY DOG?
This will depend on your dogs needs. All walks are tailored to each individual. Typically an on-leash walk we will work to keep your dog engaged which means doing things like practicing fun cues (we like hand targeting and eye contact), working on loose leash walking, “find it” games, urban agility (climbing over objects, going under or through objects, walking on narrow surfaces, etc), some impulse control exercises (“leave it” and “wait”), just to name a few. If the dog and the owner are comfortable with an off leash adventure, the walk would involve working on off leash skills such as: recall, check ins and greeting other dogs or humans calmly and more!
DO YOU USE POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT?
Two Blue Tails uses only humane, science-based training methods. We do not use any methods that require the handler to “dominate” the dog, be the “alpha” or “pack leader”, or punishment. Instead we work to use a reward based system which is the most modern and effective way to interact with our furry family members.
